American actress Sydney Sweeney, aged 27, is reportedly set to star in a film adaptation of a video game. The cooperative game titled Split Fiction, which was released in March, is to be directed by Jon M. Chu, known for his work on Wicked, according to reports from Variety and The Hollywood Reporter. Details regarding the role that Sweeney, recognized for her performances in Where the Love Lies, Euphoria, and The White Lotus, will play are still unclear.

The screenplay is being written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, who have previously collaborated on scripts for Zombieland and the Deadpool films.

The action-adventure game, produced by Electronic Arts and Hazelight Studios, revolves around two authors, Zoe and Mio. While Mio has a strong interest in science fiction, Zoe is passionate about fantasy worlds. Both women take on jobs at a publishing company, only to later discover that the CEO intends to steal their ideas. Like previous games from Electronic Arts and Hazelight, this game can only be played cooperatively with two players.

Just days ago, the trade magazine Deadline reported that Sydney Sweeney will also produce the film adaptation of Sega’s arcade racing game Out Run. However, she is not expected to appear in front of the camera for that project, which will be directed by Michael Bay, known for films such as Transformers and Bad Boys.
